EAST HAMPTON, NY (77WABC) — An advertising executive is being identified as the pilot killed in a single-engine plane crash in the Hamptons.

Authorities say 57-year-old Kent Feuerring was the only person on board the aircraft that went down into the waters of Three Mile Harbor in East Hampton Thursday afternoon.  It appears mechanical failure may be to blame.

Feuerring was the president of the East Hampton Aviation Association and an executive producer with a worldwide commercial production company.
