NEW YORK (77WABC) — The funeral for an FDNY EMT who was stabbed to death while on the job will be this Wednesday in Commack, Long Island. 61-year-old Alison Russo-Elling was on-duty in Astoria last Thursday afternoon when a man stabbed her nearly 20 times. The attack was unprovoked and the man who carried it out was arrested. The two did not know each other. Russo-Elling, who was set to retire in a number off months will be remembered at a wake Monday and Tuesday at the Commack Abbey Funeral Home. Her funeral will be held at the on the campus of LIU in Brookville on Wednesday.
