NEW YORK (77WABC) — Five more busloads of migrants who crossed the Southern border from Mexico into Texas reached New York city on Wednesday.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott escalated his feud with the city’s mayor with a victory lap op-ed in The New York Post as he continues to send migrants to democratic cities. In the op-ed, Abbott accused New York City mayor Eric Adams of hypocrisy when it comes to his border policies criticizing Adams for asking for federal assistance to deal with the migrants.

The Texas Governor is trying to antagonize President Joe Biden over lax border security leading to record migrants crossing the border.

Adams’ press secretary, Fabien Levy, on Twitter said the city will continue to welcome asylum-seekers with “open arms” but admitted the city still needs support from Washington.
