NEWARK, N.J. -(77WABC)- New Jersey Transit has suspended rail service into and out of New York City after a day in which dozens of trains were canceled because of an engineer shortage. New Jersey Transit says the shortage is the result of an illegal job action by the union representing locomotive engineers. The issue reportedly over holiday pay for Juneteenth. According to sources , the union doesn’t  have a collective bargaining agreement which would have included Juneteenth as a holiday. Rail tickets and passes are being cross-honored.
