NEW YORK, NEW YORK -(77WABC)- A 7-year-old autistic boy is in critical condition after falling down an elevator shaft. It happened in the Bronx around 12:30 Thursday afternoon in a building on Grand Concourse. First responders found the boy unconscious on top of the elevator in the basement of the building. Police say he lives on the first floor. The boy reportedly suffered a fractured skull and was taken to Harlem Hospital.
