America’s pastime and more is coming back to Staten Island this spring!

John Catsimatidis and Eric Shuffler have joined together to turn The Staten Island Stadium into a year round sports and entertainment venue, hosting concerts and other forms of fun and games.

The Stadium will bring baseball back to Staten Island with the FerryHawks and will also be used for youth and amateur sports; soccer, softball, little league, lacrosse and football.

The Stadium is approximately a 5 minute walk from the Staten Island Ferry, located on the water, overlooking Manhattan. It is currently being renovated and will be ready for the home opener, Tuesday, May 3rd.

The renovations include putting in artificial turf, chosen because it can survive heavy usage.  The Stadium is also getting many upgrades to improve the fan and player experience.

There are:
-7,000 seats
-18 suites
-1 mega suite
-Improved Wifi
-Better concession stands
-Fan lounge and bar areas

John Catsimatidis said it will be a home run for the borough, whether we’re doing movies, whether we’re doing concerts, we’re going to have entertainment year round — Play Ball, Have Fun!

With those goals in mind, The Stadium will become a focal point of the Staten Island community and an integral part of everyday life on Staten Island.
