NYPD Looking for Alleged Shoplifter Who Punched Duane Reade Worker in Face

NEW YORK (77WABC) — The NYPD is asking for help in identifying a shoplifter in connection to an alleged attack and a robbery near the 26 Precinct.

According police, on Friday, February 11, 2022 around 10:30 a.m., the man entered the Duane Reade at 2864 Broadway and took products from a freezer. As he began to place them in his bag, he was approached by a 21-year-old female store employee, who asked him to put the items back.

Police say the man allegedly punched the worker in the face, grabbed her hair and threw her to the ground before fleeing the store. There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.

Police describe the man as dark-skinned, approximately 40 years old, 6′ tall, 200lbs and was last seen wearing a red jacket, blue jeans and red boots.
