A Show of Unity from Pres. Biden and Former Presidents Obama and Clinton at Ground Zero in NYC

NEW YORK (AP) — Three presidents and their wives stood somberly side by side at the National September 11th Memorial at Ground Zero in Manhattan, sharing a moment of silence to mark two decades since the worst terror attack on US soil.

Presidents Joe Biden and former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton all gathered at the site where the World Trade Center towers fell twenty years ago today.

They each wore blue ribbons and held their hands over their hearts as a procession marched a flag through the memorial.

The display was watched by hundreds of Americans, some carrying photos of loved ones lost in the attacks.

Moments of silence were held at 8:46 am and 9:03 am, marking the times planes  hit the North and South Towers respectively on Sept. 11th, 2001. Victims families and loved ones read the names of those killed in the attacks.

The president will also pay his respects at The Pentagon and Shanksville, Pa. today.

A total of 2,977 people were killed in New York City, Washington, DC and outside of Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

A total of 2.753 people died at the World Trade Center site after hijacked American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 were intentionally crashed into the North and South Towers. those who died. a total of  343 victims were members of the FDNY, 23 were members of the NYPD  and  37 were officers from the Port Authority.

At the Pentagon, hijacked American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon killing 184 people.

Hijacked United Airlines Flight 93 crashed near Shanksville, Pa. killing a total of 40 passengers and crew members. It’s believed that the hijackers crashed the plane after some passengers attempted to take control of the hijacked aircraft. Authorities think that the hijackers intended to crash flight 93 into the White House or the US Capitol.
