BRONX, New York (WABC) — An investigation is underway after a 68-year-old woman died at the scene after being hit by an MTA bus in the Bronx last night.
According to the NYPD, the woman was attempting to cross the street in front of 2500 Johnson Ave around 8:30 p.m. when she was hit by a Manhattan bound BXM14 bus.
The woman, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The bus driver remained at the crash scene and is being withheld from duty as the investigation continues.
Police have not announced any charges related to the fatality.
