In reports from the Gun Violence Archive, so far this year there have been nearly 19,000 gun violence deaths and just over 16,000 gun injuries in the United States.
The first five months of U.S. gun violence in 2021, as of June 1st:
•8,100+ gun deaths
•15,400+ gun injuries
•240+ mass shootings
•400+ children shot
•1,700+ teenagers shot
•500+ incidents of defensive gun use
•800+ unintentional shootings

The number of mass shootings is also disparaging, as the U.S. reached over 250 mass shootings faster than the last five years.

Some of the more disappointing numbers are the deaths and injuries of children and teenagers. As of Monday, 130 children aged 11 and under have died, with 311 of them being injured. 529 teens ages 12-17 have died due to guns, with 1,309 of them being injured.

The biggest number as of Monday are the amount of suicides, at 10,428. Last year, there were a total of 24,156 gun suicides.
