(Daytona, FL/77WABC)-Video has gone viral of the Naked Cowboy being arrested in Daytona Beach Florida during Daytona’s annual bike week. The Naked Cowboy, a famous Times Square performer, was arrested by police on a charge of aggressive panhandling. The Naked Cowboy’s real name is Robert Burke.
A small crowd gathered and booed during Burke’s arrest. One person is heard shouting “free the cowboy.” as the 50-year-old is arrested on Main St.
Burck, who wears only white briefs, boots and a cowboy hat during appearances, is also charged with resisting an officer without violence, according to court records.
A video of the arrest posted on YouTube shows Burck, 50, with his signature guitar that is strategically placed to give the illusion of nudity.
Court records did not list attorney information for Burck.
Jail records indicate Burke was released Sunday.
