NYPD-Officer-Killed-In-The-Bronx
(Bronx, NY/77WABC)-Officers attempted to make a traffic stop in the Bronx last night at 167th Street and Walton Avenue in the Concourse section around 6:30 pm. Police say the vehicle involved in the traffic stop, a grey Dodge, suddenly sped toward an NYPD officer dragging the officer. Shots were fired but it is not believed the officer was struck. The injured officer was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
The officer’s gun belt was recovered at the scene.
It is not clear if the gunfire came from someone inside the vehicle or from the officer.
An investigation is ongoing.
