(Washington, DC) – Sen. Josh Hawley says he plans to introduce legislation targeting misconduct in Congress, proposing that lawmakers convicted of certain sex-related crimes lose their government pensions.
Hawley also took aim at Rep. Eric Swalwell, saying, “The only thing government should be paying for for people like Eric Swalwell is a jail cell.”
The proposal is part of a broader push for stricter accountability standards for elected officials, though it is expected to face debate over legal and constitutional considerations.
