(Washington, DC) – A new member of Congress has officially been sworn in, giving Republicans a slightly larger edge in the House.
Clay Fuller took the oath of office in a formal ceremony on Capitol Hill, marking his first day as a sitting member of Congress. The swearing-in was conducted on the House floor, with lawmakers gathered as Fuller raised his right hand and was officially welcomed into the chamber.
His addition comes at a critical time, as control of the House remains closely divided. With Fuller now seated, Republicans gain a small but meaningful boost to their majority—an advantage that could play a role in upcoming legislative battles, committee votes, and leadership priorities.
While a single seat may not dramatically shift the balance of power, in a narrowly controlled House, every vote matters. Fuller is expected to align with Republican leadership on key issues, further solidifying the party’s ability to advance its agenda.
The move also underscores the ongoing turnover in Congress, where special elections and appointments can quickly alter the political landscape in Washington.
