(New York, New York) – Lone Star State Senator Ted Cruz is weighing in following the death of an NYPD Detective. Cruz says the death of Det. Jonathan Diller could have been prevented if it wasn’t for the policies of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Senator Cruz says the killer of Det. Diller was arrested and let out of custody on 21 different occasions before he took the life of Det. Diller. This belief is shared by many across social media and the City as well.
The case has reignited debate over bail reform and criminal justice policies in New York, with critics arguing they can allow repeat offenders to cycle through the system without long-term consequences. Supporters of the reforms, however, maintain that they are designed to reduce inequities in pretrial detention and ensure fairness in the legal process.
Authorities have not publicly confirmed all details cited in Cruz’s post, and the investigation into the detective’s death remains ongoing. Meanwhile, the incident continues to draw national attention as politicians and law enforcement groups call for accountability and policy review.
