(New York, NY) — Manhattan has its first TV and film production studio that was specifically built for film and TV shoots. Sunset Pier 94 Studios on the Hudson River at 54th Street just opened January 20th, 2026.

It features six stages for production companies to use for filming shows and movies. Officials think it will have a six billion dollar impact to the local economy over the next three decades and create hundreds of permanent jobs. There has been a recent rise in construction projects for film and production studios in the New York City area. The campus has been designed to meet the demands of modern film and TV production, from tall sound stages to production offices overlooking the waterfront.

Paramount Television Studios has signed the studio’s first lease, taking 70,000 square feet to film the second season of Dexter: Resurrection for Paramount+ with the deal signed just days before the ribbon cutting, a major milestone for a facility meant to bring more production work — and more jobs — to the West Side.
