(Chicago, Illinois) – Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson participated in a march calling for the abolition of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to video and social media posts shared Monday.
Johnson was seen marching alongside demonstrators carrying “Abolish ICE” signs, aligning himself with activists who oppose federal immigration enforcement. The mayor has previously criticized ICE operations and expressed support for policies limiting cooperation between local governments and federal immigration authorities.
The march comes amid heightened national debate over ICE following recent enforcement actions and protests in several cities. Johnson’s office has not released an additional statement elaborating on his participation in the demonstration.
