(Scranton, PA) – The former Mets World Series champ was allegedly found in possession of drugs during a traffic stop on New Year’s Day in Pennsylvania. His lawyer tells TMZ he expects his client to be fully absolved of the charges. According to the police report, Dykstra was listed as the “arrestee” after a traffic stop turned into a drug bust. The unidentified driver was taken into custody under the suspicion of driving under the influence.

The latest incident joins a long line of Dykstra’s run-ins with the law. He was previously arrested for possession in 2018 and has also been accused multiple times of sexual misconduct. Back in 2020, Dykstra took up a legal battle of his own accord, suing former teammate and Mets broadcaster Ron Darling. Darling claimed Dykstra hurled racial taunts towards Red Sox pitcher Dennis Boyd during the 1986 World Series. However, a New York judge threw out the case claiming that Dykstra was a known “racist, misogynist, and anti-gay, as well as a sexual predator, a drug-abuser, a thief, and an embezzler.
