(Manhattan, New York) – A shooting along Midtown Manhattan’s busy Billionaire’s Row has been determined to be self-inflicted. According to police, a 27-year-old man shot himself in the chest late Sunday night. The incident happened near 57th Street and Sixth Avenue, just blocks from Rockefeller Center, in an area heavily trafficked by tourists during the holiday season.

Police say the shooting occurred around 10:15 p.m. Sunday night. Officers with the New York City Police Department transported the man to Mount Sinai West in an NYPD vehicle.

The man was initially listed in critical condition, but his status was upgraded to stable by early Monday morning. Authorities say the man has not yet been identified, and no criminal activity is suspected.

The incident took place along Billionaire’s Row, home to ultra-luxury skyscrapers including Central Park Tower, the tallest residential building in the world.
