(Newark, NJ) — There are more delays at Newark Liberty Airport and flights are being cancelled. New York Senator Chuck Schumer is calling for an investigation into the chaos at the airport. In addition, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy wants Congress to approve more money for equipment and technology upgrades.
Meantime, Schumer is calling on the U.S. Inspector General to investigate Newark’s problems. He wants to make sure problems don’t get worse or spread up-and-down the East Coast. Many of the issues stem from air traffic controllers in Philadelphia who are out on trauma leave. They control the airspace at Newark Airport.
