(Pittsburgh, PA) — The Pittsburgh Steelers’ first round pick is mourning the loss of his mother. Derrick Harmon was drafted by the team Thursday night with the 21st overall pick. Shortly after he was selected, Harmon’s mother, Tiffany Saine, died. Saine suffered a stroke in 2022 and was on life-support when her son was drafted. Harmon credited his mom with teaching him resilience as she underwent several brain surgeries throughout her life.
Shedeur Sanders is still up for grabs after three rounds of the NFL Draft. The son of NFL great Deion Sanders was expected to be snatched up in the first round Thursday night, but after rounds two and three on Friday, the Colorado quarterback was still available.
