(New York, NY) — It’s been a question every New Yorker has asked themselves, where do you go, when you have to go. The City Council may answer that question when they vote today on a proposal that would create more public bathrooms all across the city. If Councilmember Sandy Nurse gets her way, the city would have to provide one restroom per 2,000 residents by the year 2035. The city right now has eleven-hundred public restrooms. The legislation also would require a posting of a comprehensive online map of all public bathrooms in the city to help residents and tourists find them.
If the bill becomes law, the city will also have to figure out where bathrooms should go.
