(New York, NY) — The men and women who want to be New York City’s next mayor are working hard to grab the Jewish vote. 1 in 10 New Yorkers are Jewish, making the big apple the home to the second largest population of Jews outside Israel. Governor Andrew Cuomo spoke at an Upper West Side synagogue on Tuesday, telling a group that he would institute a city wide mask ban, to uncover the anti-Israel demonstrators who have held protests across the city
Cuomo says three of his opponents have engaged in anti-Israel acts or policies. One of those Cuomo attacked is Comptroller Brad Lander who fired back, calling Cuomo desperate with no friends.
Meanwhile, Mayor Eric Adams says Cuomo is out of touch, and limits his availability to reporters. Adams spent part of the last weekend in the Jewish community in Brooklyn helping prepare for Passover. However, under Adams watch, antisemitic incidents have skyrocketed, accounting for half of all hate crimes in the city.
