(New York, NY) – On TikTok, a theory has emerged — called the “pearl earring theory.” It claims that wearing pearl earrings might unintentionally intimidate men. Pears are often seen as classy and elegant, but some think they make women come off as high-maintenance or expensive. And those traits tend to scare men off.

The bulk of reaction line includes women joking that pearl jewelry is the reason they’re single. Some women are frustrated by the situation, as well.

Meanwhile, the “red nail theory” suggests that red nail polish attracts men – some women say they have gotten more attention with red nails.

Of course, while some agree with these theories, others think they’re nonsense or just weird.
