(New York, NY) — New York’s congestion pricing battle, pitting President Donald Trump against Governor Kathy Hochul, is far from over.
The U.S. Transportation Department has ordered the Governor to turn off those tolling gantries by this Friday. But Hochul says she made it clear to Trump, when they met at the White House last Friday, she won’t do it. Hochul says she told the President the federal D-O-T doesn’t have jurisdiction to end what’s already approved.
Trump had vowed to eliminate congestion pricing on Day 1 of taking office. Friday will be Day 57. Hochul refuses to turn off the cameras, or the toll gantries.
