4 NYC Deputy Mayors Resign

syndication-the-record-239

(New York, NY) — Four deputy mayors in New York City are resigning over Eric Adams’ Trump ties and reprieve from federal corruption charges.

The four senior aides are Maria Torres-Springer, Deputy Mayor for Operations Meera Joshi, Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services Anne Williams-Isom and Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Chauncey Parker. They’ve all submitted resignation letters over concerns that Adams got that reprieve in exchange for supporting the President’s immigration crackdown.

Adams denies it, and even as there are growing calls for the Mayor to exit, he insists he’s “stepping up, not down.” Demonstrators are also calling on Governor Kathy Hochul to remove Adams if he does not step down. New York City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams is among the latest to call for Mayor Adams to step down.

The mayor denies those allegations and was adamant that he will not resign. As for the deputy mayors, Adams says he’s disappointed but wishes them nothing but success.
