(New York, NY) – A 6 year old girl was found dead in a bathtub full of water at her home on Friday afternoon. Officers responded to a 911 call where they found the young victim unconscious in a Brooklyn apartment. Her cause of death remains under investigation, however her eyes had blood clots indicating a possible struggle. She was rushed to the hospital where about an hour later she was pronounced dead.
Police have now arrested and charged the girl’s mother in relation to the death. The 26-year-old woman, Karla Espinal, was charged with felony assault along with reckless endangerment of a child. Additional charges may be added following the autopsy.
