(New York, NY) — Mayor Eric Adams is releasing a preliminary 2026 budget plan. He says the 114-and-a-half-billion-dollar budget will make New York City, safer, more affordable and the best place to raise a family without cutting services, laying off city employees or “raising taxes by a single penny.”
Adams’ proposed budget makes major investments in reducing severe mental health crises that lead to homelessness and random crime. It also contains an ambitious “Axe The Tax for the Working Class proposal” that will eliminate and cut New York City’s personal income tax.
He says that under his administration, New Yorkers are seeing a robust economy and three-point-four-billion dollars in savings.
