(New York, NY) – A number of politicians from the Tri-State area on both sides of the aisle received bomb threats this holiday season. The FBI is investigating after five out of seven of Connecticut’s Democratic members of the House of Representatives received bomb threats at their homes or mailboxes. It happened on Thanksgiving. John Larson, Jim Himes, Jahana Hayes, Joe Courtney and Rosa DeLauro all claim that they have been targeted in these threats.
In the upper chamber, Democrat Senator Chris Murphy, also says he was on the receiving end of a bomb threat. No explosive devices were found. This comes after two members of the GOP from New York were threatened on Wednesday. Former Congressman and gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin and upstate Representative Elise Stefanik, were sent threats. Both have also been tapped by President-elect Donald Trump to join his cabinet. Zeldin has been nominated to head the Environmental Protection Agency and Stefanik was named as Trump’s pick for UN Ambassador.
