(New York, NY) – A man is in custody related to a crime spree that included the robbery of a church’s 9/11 memorial. The suspect, 21 year-old Deikel Alcantara, is accused of stealing a $3,000 gold-plated rose from St Francis of Assisi in midtown Manhattan.
Alcantara was turned into cops by his father on Friday night. The New York Post reports that he was laughing throughout his arraignment where the judge ordered he be held on $75,000 bail. He’s due back in court on Tuesday. The rose has still not been recovered.
