Creep smashes statues outside Brooklyn church

(New York, NY) _- NYPD cops are searching for a creep who smashed religious statues outside St. Therese of Lisieux Church in East Flatbush early Tuesday. Father Liju Augustine says church  surveillance cameras caught video of the wanted man walking into the church garden, kissing a statue two times, and then using a brick to smash one of the arms off it. That religious statue had just been repaired.

The same individual then can be seen breaking the crucifix off a patron saint statue.  Father Augustine says he normally keeps the garden with the statues open to the public 24/7, but may now consider locking it down during certain hours.

The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating.
