(New York, NY) — That state, or perceived state of the economy normally has a profound impact on presidential elections. Bankrate’s new Politics and Economy Survey shows 41-percent of Americans say inflation is their top economic issue this presidential election. The majority of Americans aren’t pleased with the economy. More-than-half of those surveyed think the U.S. economy is headed on the wrong direction. More than two-in-five Americans say Trump would be best for their personal financial situation and inflation.

A number of new polls show the tide is turning in Trump’s direction. He now has the edge in two battleground state polls.  The same polls show five other battleground states are still toss ups today.  At the end of August, polls showed Vice President Harris had leads in three of the seven battleground states.
