(New York, NY) – Despite New York City’s War on Rats, hosting September’s National Rat Summit, and appointing a Rat Czar, a new study shows that the Big Apple is the most rat-infested city in the country.
Terminix looked at which cities have been using the pest control company’s services most often and says the undesirable top spot goes to New York. San Francisco comes in at number two, followed by Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Washington, DC.
Meanwhile, Orkin recently ranked Chicago as the worst for rats, followed by Los Angeles and then New York.
The National Rat Summit invited rodent control experts and officials from around the country and Canada. Officials say the goal is to share ideas, strategies and practices to better control the rat population in urban areas. The summit comes as New York City continues to put in pest management strategies focused on identifying rat hotspots and removing conditions that allow rats to thrive.
