(West Palm Beach, FL) – *Update as of 7:26 pm* The FBI is investigating what it believes to be a second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. The New York Times and Fox News identified the suspect as Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, of Hawaii, citing unnamed law enforcement officials. Secret Service agents spotted the barrel of the AK-47 and engaged the shooter in a round of gunfire. The gunman fled in a black Nissan before law enforcement intercepted him on the highway. Those on Trump’s fundraising email list received a message: ” “gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL!”

Reports say “multiple shots” were fired at former President Donald Trump’s golf club. According to reports from Politico, Trump was golfing at the time but was not in danger. The New York Post reported that two individuals exchanged gunfire outside the Trump International Golf Club. Secret Service officials responded to the scene.
Steven Cheung, Trump’s campaign communications director, confirmed that Trump was safe but did not provide additional details. Authorities are investigating, and further information has been requested from the Trump campaign and Palm Beach Sheriff’s Department.
