(Gloucester City, NJ) — A memorial is being held in New Jersey this evening for NHL hockey star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew at the high school where they skated. Gloucester Catholic in the Philadelphia suburb of Gloucester City, is calling it a “Quiet Night of Remembrance.” Mourners are gathering in the school’s gymnasium to pay tribute to the Gaudreau brothers. They were struck and killed last week while cycling near their family home on the eve of their sister’s wedding. Sean Higgins, a Woodstown man charged in the tragedy, told police he’d had five or six beers prior. The brothers’ funeral is scheduled for Monday in a church near Philly. It’ll be live streamed by the Columbus Blue Jackets where Johnny Gaudreau skated and was known as “Johnny Hockey.”
