(New York, New York) – A heat advisory is in place for New York City and New Jersey Wednesday afternoon. Forecasters warn that at some points of the day it may feel over 100 degrees. It is expected that this will be the 21st day this summer that the temperature has hit at least 90 degrees in Central Park. An excessive heat warning is in place today for parts of New Jersey including the Trenton area.
New Yorkers aren’t completely out of luck though, the option of cooling centers across the city still exists for anyone in need, at no cost. It is highly recommended during these times to stay inside with the AC on, especially those with chronic health problems. Don’t forget to check in on vulnerable friends, family members and neighbors.
Temperatures on Thursday are expected to peak around the mid 70’s and the heat will die down overnight.
