(New York, New York) – Storms slammed the Tri-State area Sunday bringing flash flooding. In Connecticut, two people were reported missing after being swept away by floodwaters in Oxford. Officials say one person was holding onto a sign and another was inside a car when they were swept away. They have not been found.
Floodwaters left major roadways closed for hours and drivers stranded. The rails were also impacted, as both New Jersey Transit, Amtrak, and some Metro-North trains were suspended for hours due to flooding conditions. The big 3 area airports were also affected, with delays and cancellations. Residual delays can be expected.
