(Central Islip, NY) – Suffolk County police say they’re on the look-out for a suspect who’s behind a bank robbery in Central Islip. The man walked into the Bank of America on 185 Wheeler Road around 9:30 Tuesday morning, demanding cash and threatening violence while flashing what appears to be a gun in his waistband. The amount of cash stolen has not been disclosed.

The bank teller did as told by the man and the suspect made-off with the cash. The suspect is described as a black man, in his mid to late 30s, between five-foot-ten and six feet tall, with a thin build and long black hair.  He was wearing a burgundy flannel shirt and black pants.
