(Butler, PA) — Federal officials say Trump rally gunman Thomas Crooks practiced shooting for nearly a year before last month’s assassination attempt. Documents released yesterday by Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley show Crooks joined the Clairton Sportsman’s Club in August of last year and made over 40 visits before the shooting on July 13th. The club’s records indicate Crooks spent about 80-percent of his time there on the rifle range, which includes at least one 200-yard target. Investigators say Crooks was less than 150 yards away from the stage where Trump was standing, when he fired the shot that grazed the former president’s ear.
