(Sarasota, FL) – Amid the ongoing Listeria outbreak that has killed two people and sickened dozens across 13 states, Boar’s Head is recalling more than 200,000 pounds of deli meat. Boar’s Head, one of the largest meat distributors in the US, may have sent out meat contaminated with the Listeria bacteria. It’s been shown to potentially cause deadly infections in some people after eating contaminated meats.
The FDA announced the recall, all while investigations continue nationwide. It’s not immediately clear if Boar’s Head or its products are connected to the ongoing outbreak. Aldi, Walmart, and Kroger have all issued recalls. Produce delivered to their stores across 15 states may have similar concerns.
