(Washington, D.C) – Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign says she’s reached enough committed delegates to become the Democratic nominee. The news came just hours after Harris held her first on-camera campaign event in Delaware, where she told crowds she was ready to take on Donald Trump. Her campaign received over 81-million-dollars in contributions in the first 24 hours after Biden’s announcement that he would exit the race.

President Joe Biden called into her campaign headquarters on Monday saying he’s not going anywhere and that he’s ready to be right next to Kamala whenever she needs his support.

Robert Garcia, U.S. representative for California’s 42nd congressional district posted on twitter, “California just voted unanimously to nominate our very own @KamalaHarris for President. Our delegates have put the VP over the required number she needs to be our nominee going into convention!”
