(Washington, DC) — House Speaker Mike Johnson says Democrats are likely to face legal challenges if they try to substitute a new candidate in place of President Biden in the 2024 election. He told ABC’s “This Week” that every state has its own system, and in some states, it’s not possible to switch out a candidate. A rising number of Democrats have called on Biden to exit the race and make way for a different presidential nominee, with many in the party rallying around Vice President Kamala Harris. Biden and his campaign, however, are adamant that the president will be the Democratic nominee.
