(Butler, PA) – Little is still known about the shooter behind the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump. So far no social media accounts have been found in connection to the shooter. Reports say that Crooks’s voter registration showed that he was a registered Republican.
The shooter climbed on top of a roof outside the Secret Service’s secure perimeter, that is where he fired the AR-15 rifle. Officials suspect that the gun belonged to Crook’s father and was purchased legally. Explosives were found in his car at the rally as well. The bomb squad was called after suspicious packages were spotted around the scene of the shooting.
NBC News reports that a high school classmate of the shooter says Crooks would often spend lunch sitting alone. A local official also notes that the area the shooter was from, Bethel Park, is a politically diverse area with a wide array of opinions.
