(New York, New York) – Earlier this month Steve Sylvester, 34, allegedly opened fire in a subway car after a man tried to break up a fight between Sylvester and his girlfriend. A judge in Manhattan ordered Sylvester to be held on a $1M bail on Monday. Sylvester carried the gun onto the train, missed the good Samaritan who tried to break up the fight and unintentionally hit an innocent bystander.

Sylvester is charged with one count of second-degree attempted murder, one count of first-degree attempted assault, one count of second-degree assault, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. His maximum sentence can be up to 25 years in prison.
