(New York, NY) — Dolly Parton is heading back to Broadway. The Country music star plans to debut “Hello, I’m Dolly” in 2026. The musical will feature some of Parton’s most well-known songs along with new ones she has written for the play. Hello, I’m Dolly is the name of Parton’s debut album released back in 1967. She will not star in the musical. The 78-year-old says she has lived her whole life to see this show on the Great White Way. Parton says she will team up with the Emmy award winning Maria Schlatter on the script and story.

In recent years, the Broadway stage has become a place to celebrate artists, including Neil Diamond, Alicia Keys, Michael Jackson, and Carole King. In 2009, Parton wrote the score and brought to Broadway the musical “9 to 5, based on the 1980 movie she starred in along with Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.
