(New York, New York) – During the dramatic thunderstorms last night, two of the city’s most iconic skyscrapers were both struck by lightning. The lightning bolts zapped One World Trade and the Empire State Building. Both buildings were struck on their lightning rods which are built and designed to absorb the shocks for protection. According to the Empire State Building’s website, it only gets struck 25 times a year. No one was hurt or injured.
