(Washington, D.C.) – Senator Tim Scott recently made a clear commitment regarding the certification of future elections. In an interview on CNN’s State of the Union, Scott emphasized his stance on ensuring the integrity of the electoral process.
He stated that he would certify the results of the presidential election only if he believed it had been conducted fairly and transparently. He ended the statement saying that a fair election would end with former President Donald Trump as the 47th Commander-in-Chief.
Scott also defended the former President’s attendance and address at the Libertarian National Convention. The South Carolina Republican says he believes Trump’s popularity is only increasing, appealing to third parties beyond the GOP.
Scott is among the list of potential candidates for Trump’s Vice President pick.
