(New York, NY) – Another random act of violence in the city, after 66-year-old actor Steve Buscemi was slugged in the face on a Manhattan street last week.  The star of “Fargo” and “Boardwalk Empire” was socked in the head by a complete stranger, as he walked near 28th Street and Third Avenue last Wednesday around noon. Buscemi initially chased after his attacker, but he could not catch him.  The actor was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was treated for swelling, bruising, and bleeding near his left eye.

Buscemi is a Brooklyn native and a beloved New York figure, who’s a former city firefighter who helped at Ground Zero after the 9/11 attacks.  Police are still searching for his attacker.
