(Tehran, Iran) — U.S. officials are confirming Israel launched a limited military attack on Iran overnight. Explosions could heard in the city of Isfahan. Iran has a nuclear research facility in Isfahan. ABC News reports that Israeli missiles hit at least one site. Iranian media outlets report the country’s air defenses systems were activated. The attack comes after Iran sent more than 300 drones and missiles towards Israel late Saturday night. Almost all those missiles and drones were intercepted.
Israeli officials reportedly gave the U.S. notice that the military operation would happen. Shortly after launching the attack, sirens began sounding in Northern Israel, and Israeli military officials say areas near the border with Lebanon are being shelled by Hezbollah. There are no word on any injures in Israel or in Iran.
Iran’s leaders say they do not plan on retaliating for Israel’s attack. Israel is not telling it’s citizen to prepare for any military action. U.S. officials say they hope this will be the end of this latest conflict between Iran and Israel.
