(New York, NY) — NBC News is planning to drop former RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel after facing push back from some of its personalities over her hiring. McDaniel was hired last week as the election cycle kicks into high gear. During her time with the RNC, McDaniel questioned the 2020 presidential election results and took aim at journalists. On Monday, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that they hope NBC reconsiders the decision to hire McDaniel. That came a day after former “Meet the Press” anchor Chuck Todd blasted the hiring during NBC’s flagship political show. Fox News is reporting NBC News is planning to drop McDaniel, who is seeking legal representation.
